Birmingham Unicorns cricket club are aiming to become the second LGBTQ+ team in England to join a league.
The Unicorns were established in 2020 as an inclusive space for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) community to share their passion of cricket.

It is believed the team is only one of two clubs in the world that represents the LGBTQ+ community.
The founder of the Unicorns, Lachlan Smith, said: "Our key ambition this year is to continue to improve, introduce more people to cricket, and to play more games.
"We played ten games last year, and won one.
"This year we already have fifteen fixtures agreed, and it would be great to win more games.
"As the membership grows and we become more sustainable, we hope in due course to play league cricket as well as field a friendly team."
The Birmingham based club will play its 2022 fixtures at Lapworth CC's memorial ground, south of Solihull.
Smith added: "We want to make sure we remain an inclusive enviroment, where people can come and try cricket if they have never played before or are returning to the game, while also being a bridge or a stepping stone for LGBTQ+ cricketers to play at a higher level."
On the prospect of inspiring other inclusive LGBTQ+ clubs to setup across other areas of the country, Smith said: "Since we have been established, there have been a number of conversations in other parts of the country to explore setting up new LGBTQ+ teams.
"It would be great to see other clubs emerge, and help make cricket more inclusive for the community."
