New York Jets have released 3- time pro bowler Le'Veon Bell yesterday after "exploring Potential Trade options"
The decision comes less than halfway through a 4 year deal, worth $52.5 million that the Jets gave the 27- year- old in 2019 in which $27 million is guaranteed.
Bell ran for 863 yards and three touchdowns whilst catching 69 passes for 500 yards over his 17 games with the New York side.
Questions surrounding Bells' long-term future with the team has been no stranger to the public after his relationship with Head coach Adam Gase did not get off to a great start. It seems as if this is still present after Bell was pulled from practice back in August with what Gase called "Hamstring tightness". Bell took to Twitter shortly after to express his thoughts.
In recent weeks the New York side has leaned towards their new signing, Frank Gore who currently has 204 rushing yards and averages 3.2 yards per carry in 2020.
The Jets fanbase has been cautiously optimistic of the current state of their franchise with 2018 1st round Quarterback,Sam Darnold, leading the rebuild, to a mixed reception from critics. The New York Jets are currently 0-5 in 2020, which leaves the future of Adam Gase in New York at doubt.
